Material Consumption

Each piece of equipment in the Makerspace (3d printers, laser cutter, CNC mill, table saw, etc.) is setup with all the material needed to complete the training. All this material is free and ready to go near the equipment. As you work through each training, it’ll become clear what material is needed to complete it.

Some of the equipment has material loaded into it for small projects beyond the training. For example, the 3D Printers always have some filament loaded in. Feel free to use this material, to get started on your projects. But as your work becomes more involved, please communicate with me Daniel Houghton (the Makerspace Director) so that I can participate in the decision process for larger projects.

You’ll likely see a fair amount of material around the Makerspace. This material is here for upcoming projects or class, and as I don’t have any secure storage, it’s just there in the room. So please check in before consuming material beyond the training material.

Material is a huge part of project work, and I’m thrilled that you’re thinking about doing a project!
