The Middlebury Makerspace is a community that brings together people and ideas with tools and support in a beautiful sun-filled space. From absolute beginners to world-class experts we come here to learn, to grow, to share and to make cool things!

To get started, just work through the website menu from left to right (or top to bottom on a phone)!

1. Use the Calendar to learn when the Makerspace has Open Hours.
2. Look at the Directions page to learn how to find the Makerspace.
3. Sign the Pledge where you’ll consider the hazards present in a Makerspace and how to use the equipment with safety as the highest priority.
4. Start the Training physically here in the Makerspace. If you don’t know what to do first, start with the Vinyl Cutter.

When you’re ready to commit a full semester in the Makerspace, take Intro to Industrial Design (INTD 0216) or Design Lab 1 (INTD 0377). These are beginner friendly courses that expect no prior knowledge. When you’re ready for a second semester in the Makerspace, take Design Lab 2 (INTD 0378) and get busy already!

After a semester learning the basics, students in Design Lab tackle big, often collaborative Design projects. For example, we’ve recently been hard at work building an automated hydroponic garden!
